Book: Skin Dreams

Genre: Horror

Rating: 3 Stars

Synopsis

Meet Sadie Richards. Maybe she’s just a little white trash girl from Texas, but she ain’t about to let no *****-grabbin’ politician tell her what to do!

Meet Sadie, a young girl who decides that her hometown is not for her and move away to become a tattoo artist. It’s time for Sadie to make a life for herself but some mysterious things happen that want to get in her way.

My Thoughts

I had a really fun time reading this novel. I had no idea really what this book was about so I just jumped right in and was very intrigued. Sadie is a very crass, stubborn, strong young woman who takes no shit from anyone. She meets some really cool guys who I really enjoyed reading about and exploring Sadie’s new life with her.

Sadie has gone through a lot of stuff as a young girl. Trigger warnings for child abuse and molestation.

I really enjoyed the discussions of tattoos and that Sadie wants to become a tattoo artist. This was a really fun aspect of this story. For most of this book there is a little bit of magical elements that I enjoyed but hadn’t really a clue about what else was going to take place in the rest of the story.

In the last 80-90% shit hits the fan in this book and I was really confused but surprised with what happened. It was very thrilling, moving and violent! There was a lot of gore and a lot of triggering stuff towards the end but I did have a fun time with this book. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.
